I don't know if the diagrams you mention were posted using Photobucket, but a while ago all pictures posted that way were deleted as Photobucket no longer supports forum posts so all pictures were lost.

I have seen quite a few original 289s, and as far as I recall, the doors did not shut with a "clunk". :lol:

My 302 with T5 gearbox is approx 53" from pulley to shifter.

Hi Simon, I was told to only put enough filler foam in the door to fill between the impact bar and the door skin to prevent drumming. If you put too much in it can soften the fibreglass.

Hi Frank, I think you will find that most of us with Smith's instruments actually have a voltmeter fitted but with an ammeter card. Ammeters were better suited to cars with dynamos and voltmeters for cars with alternators.
