Re: Re-Chroming

From another thread Roger suggested that the original caps were of pretty poor quality metal, in which case many chrome platers won't touch them. The detail shouldn't be affected if you can get it rechromed unless they have to heavily polish it to remove marks and blemishes. Roger was suggesting tha...

Annual Road Trip

We have just returned from our annual Road Trip, this year organised by member Tony Mountain and his partner Barbara. This year's event was called The Roses Road Trip and introduced us to the delights of Lancashire and Yorkshire, taking in the beautiful scenery of the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding...

Re: Body style choice

The "98" car in the second picture appears to have yet another style of front arches. Re: Evans Waterless coolant

One important point to mention about the overflow tank, is that the "inlet" pipe needs to go to the bottom of the tank, so that the overflow coolant can be sucked back into the engine again as it cools and contracts.

Obvious when you think about it, but easily overlooked.

Re: Looking for a Hawk 289/FIA

You snooze, you lose. You're unlikely to get a second chance at a bargain like that, if indeed it was a bargain. It was probably that cheap for a reason. I think this car is much closer to the current value of a professionally built Hawk 289. When I asked Gerry, he actually gave it a higher v...
