Re: Part completed Hawk project wanted

I know where there might be a Hawk AC Ace kit coming up for sale, Hawk uprated front suspension, 4 pot calipers, engine mounts for BMW. Only the front suspension has been built up so far.

Tour Auto 2012

Bought EVO yesterday and noticed Tour Auto starts in Paris on Monday / Tuesday 16/17th April, never heard of this event before. By pure co-incidence quess where I'm working on those two days - yep Paris. I'll be sneaking off early on the Monday to view the cars and will watch the start on Tuesday mo...

Re: 2012 Le Mans classic travel arrangements

Not booked anything yet, but will be in my Boxster. My plan is to have my ACE ready for 2014 LM Classic. I'll say Hi while I'm down there.

Re: Track Day 1st October

If I wasn't in Cornwall that weekend I'd have dropped in, either as a spectator or in something more mundane ( if I was allowed ). Would have been good to see the GT40's. ( as well as any Cobra's of course )

Regards Tony

Re: Track Day 1st October

Track day at Gainsborough ? Presumably on Blyton disused airfield ( approx three miles from me ), I made the mistake of tagging onto one of these a few years ago in my 360 spider, mainly used for rallying and was covered in gravel, more like a kart circuit. May have changed since then though.

Re: Stiff King Pin

Just dropped in to see a mechanic friend who injected grease with air powered grease gun, has released some of the stiffness. We've come to the conclusion it's stiff only in a local area which should not affect performance since the pin rotates only approx 90 degrees on the car, the stiffness being ...

Re: Stiff King Pin

Hi Clive,

It is the King pin, one side rotates freely through 360 degrees ( off the car obviously ! ) while the other will only rotate about 300 degrees. I don't want any future problems and am a bit aprehensive using the secondhand parts.

Stiff King Pin

Having trial fitted the front suspension ( Gerry's ) to check where everything goes, I removed the king pin / stub axle assemblies for final painting. After final cleaning of the king pins I noticed that one will not rotate through 360 degrees due to resistance to rotation. there is no play in the k...
