Re: Oil Temperature Sender Location

Many thanks guys. I'd forgotten how helpful you all are - really appreciate it. I'll look into just using a hole and a nut on the inside of the sump.

Cheers,
John

Oil Temperature Sender Location

I'm restarting my build of a Hawk 289 FIA (302 engine). Assuming the best place for a mechanical Oil Temp sender is in the sump, can anyone recommend where would be the best place to weld a nut into the sump? My plug is on the underside and I don't really want to have the thing sticking down from th...

Re: Conference call for builders

Hi Andy,
I think the Skype call is a great idea. It may provide the motivation/peer pressure I need to get back to work on the car!
Cheers,

Re: Gauges and IVA

I've spoken to Tracy at Speedycables and as Roger says the bezels do come off and can be replaced. The are happy to supply with the rounded bezels fitted and the original V shaped ones so that I can swap the back post IVA (if I ever get there!). I like Nik's idea of using black flex, but it would be...

Gauges and IVA

Hi folks, I've been a bit quiet lately as I've been busy doing stuff other than working on the car - not good, I know - but I did promise a new kitchen when we moved house. I've got most of by Ford 302 engine assembled and I'm looking at gauges. One thing puzzling me is that the Smiths Cobra gauges ...

Re: Jag IRS with Outboard brakes for Hawk?

Almost there with the rear axle - Jag powerlock 3.45 diff with XJ40 outboard brakes. A few questions (probably for Roger): 1. Anyone got pictures showing how the handbrake cable mechanism was fabricated? 2. Ed (Ward Engineering) said to mount the hubs with calipers at the front - is this how others ...

Re: TKO500 gearboxes?

Andrew and I have been discussing gearboxes. Sorry, I've just checked and the import duty on a gearbox is actually 4.5% - my fault telling Andrew it was 8%. Still expensive when you add shipping, VAT and maybe some agents handing charges in UK. Like Andrew I'm looking for a gearbox, but I'm using a ...
