Re: Silverstone Classic 2019

^^^^^ I agree the hotel was much better, maybe best if we can provisionally book it early?

Re: Ford V8 engine wanted!

Hi Hamish, it's an engine I had that was surplus to my needs. My friend builds engines for people, so I let him have it rather than take up too much space here (I've already got a spare early 302 and 289)it would need a full rebuild dependant on what somebody needs. I shouldn't think he'd want to se...

Re: Ford V8 engine wanted!

I know of a really good engine builder that has one of my old rebuildable 289 engines he might be happy to part with. I can ask him tomorow for you if you like? He's likely to ask what sort of budget you have for a re built engine, as the prices can alter dramatically depending on final spec. How wo...

Re: Ford V8 engine wanted!

Real steel don't generally sell early blocks as they're hard to come by. I spoke to them about this a while ago and they said it would be unlikely for them to get one

Re: Ford V8 engine wanted!

If possible try to get an engine that was manufactured pre 1975. For the mot it's tested as "visual smoke" only and doesn't require an emissions test. Any other later engines would have to meet the emissions standards set at the date of their manufacture.

Re: Well, that didn't fit

I thought I'd add a link to this thread showing how the aluminium dash was made, thus keeping the build of this car in one thread.

Re: emblems / paint

Hi Jerry, I can supply you with a "spray out" panel for both Viking and Princess blue as I have the formula for mixing these colours. Princess blue is an AC colour and is lighter than Viking blue. Viking is lighter than Guardsman blue. As Peter says, Viking was used by Shelby on his race cars using ...

Re: Cobra is born again as a 378

I think that this has probably missed the boat. Why would anyone want to pay that much when you can have an aluminium replica, which is almost identical to an original should you so wish, such as a DB Cobra, or for a little more a Kirkham? Plus the kit market is swamped with cars of a similar spec, ...
