Well done Si, I bet you're chuffed to bits to get it on the road again, now go and drive the wheels off it 👍😎

Re: Well, that didn't fit

I really haven't a clue to be honest Pete, I know that with the big tyres it chucked out a fair bit of water as it was. I'm undecided whether to add some mesh into the opening, but would prefer to leave it open purely for as aesthetic reasons. If left open, I might put some clear 3M panel protect vi...

Re: Well, that didn't fit

Stunning work as usual Nigel. How many layers of paint on that car now??? Surprisingly Dave, not a lot. It's only been painted once in its life when first built, and that paint was thin and rubbed through quite easily, so this is the second paintjob, which is fine. I applied the bare minimum...

Re: Well, that didn't fit

Well, I got up at stupid o-clock (4.00 am) this morning to paint the rear of the Cobra before it got too hot, and had it finished by 7.10 am. Pleased with the result and think I made the right choice to paint the coves blue. Just need to repair and paint the bootlid and put the stripes on the rear v...

Re: Well, that didn't fit

Hi Pete, yes I used a tape measure, measuring from the tail lights to the rear edge and from the floor to datum points on the card template before cutting anything. I've removed the " plinths that the tail lights were sat on ,( see previous pics), they're now pretty much where they should have been ...

Re: Well, that didn't fit

Well, I decided to paint them, so I finished off the repairs to the coves and bonded them to the body using fibreglass matt and resin. once cured I fibreglassed the inside of the panels to the surrounding body work. once fully cured, the outside could be blended in to make it look as if it's a part ...

Re: Well, that didn't fit

Pete, my intention was never to replicate the shape of the cove on of GPG4C, as I don't like the curvature and placement of it on that car, hence going with the shape I have. Yes , the rear will have more of a taper to it, going to the rear of the car, this was just a rough ish panel that needs more...
