Re: Well, that didn't fit

The finishing touches to the bodywork. Autocraft was the name of my first business back in the '70's, it was quite well known as I had a number of cars featured in various car magazines and they all mentioned the Autocraft name, so I figured it would tie in nicely using my surname and business name,...

Re: MOT emissions

If you recall, I posted a load of info up a few years ago regarding this. The Government were looking to change the emissions test to age of vehicle manufacture/build and not the engine age as it had been. I think this was in 2018. After a lot of people contacting " the powers that be", the decision...

Re: Well, that didn't fit

Well, all of the mods are finally finished on the Cobra. I took it out earlier for its first run since all of the suspension and brake upgrades have been carried out. All I can say is what a difference. It feels extremely well planted at speed, handles corners exceptionally well now, and the EBC bra...

Re: Well, that didn't fit

With the longer driveshafts and bottom arms now fitted, the rear tyres now sit nicely in the rear arches. These shafts and arms are 20mm wider than the ones I took off. https://i.imgur.com/L9WUXZQ.jpg Been toying with the idea of putting some pinstripes on the arches, not sure about this yet, but it...

Re: Bonnet (Hood) Rivets on a 289 Sebring????

if you paint ther bonnet and rivets with the rivets fitted, you'd be surprisded at how much definition you would lose, plus, there's the possibilty of the paint cracking around the rivets with body movement, paint shrinkage etc. As paint cures, it does shrink slightly ;-). I left mine in raw alumini...

Re: Bonnet (Hood) Rivets on a 289 Sebring????

Kev, best not to fit any rivets until the car is painted, and then it has to be well cured before riveting. If you rivet it prior to the paint process, you'll lose the rivets " definition" under the paint, plus it could cause issues after time. Best to drill the holes, get it painted and then rivet ...
