Re: Fitting a hard top.

Thanks Clive, understood, and very useful. My problem is that the hardtop will not sit down on the car properly until I have finished the grp surgery (sits too high), so I can't determine if my screen is at the correct rake to ensure the sidescreens will align correctly with the hardtop. Don't want ...

Re: Fitting a hard top.

Hi Simon, The Hawk LeMans hardtop is made to replicate the LeMans 289's of the 60's with the flatter rake of the track cars. Nigel is more than capable of making the hardtop fit the more vertical rake of the screen. There's a fair few man hours required to get it right and getting it "to be right"....

Re: Fitting a hard top.

On a related note, does anyone have a pic/measurement of the sidescreens fitted without a hood?
I am not sure exactly how far short of the top of the windscreen these should come, as shown in pic below, taken from

Re: Fitting a hard top.

I have a similar problem fitting a bubbletop to a 427 body with a roll bar. I am going to have to split it in half, add a 2-3" fillet and re-profile the rear skirt, as described in the technical articles on here. Quite a lot of work, still plucking up the courage to get the angle grinder out.

Revival weekend, Friday 13th The Cricketers, Duncton

I believe there was a post regarding a meet at the above on Saturday night at the above, but i can't see it? Anyway, for those who were present last year there was a small local band playing on the Saturday evening. In the past 12 months they have swelled in numbers and capability http://www.sussexj...

I quite like the exterior, although it seems reminiscent of a Ferrari P4 (on steroids?), but the inside...hmmm, bit too brassy for me. ...not that I am likely to be purchasing one any time soon.

Re: Hard top / soft top hood frame fixing hole/bracket

Thanks Clive. I surmise from this that there is a metal bracket from the floor pan up and behind the door aperture for mounting the door latch and then folds up and under for mounting the steel tub for the hood bow. Makes sense - good design and won't stress the body over such a large area. I'll hav...
