Re: To paint or not to paint....

I fitted the studs into the body first. Then you position the hood, mark where the lift-a-dots need to go with chalk and then punch the hole in hood to fit the lift-a-dot. To fit studs drill and tap the fibreglass as per the markings. The studs then screw in nicely.

Re: Set of 5 Cobra wire wheels and tyres

Hi JOhn - suspect best to sell them as a set but if you had no takers and wanted to sell one for a spare wheel I'm on!

Re: Prop shaft speedo induction sender on jag rear end

Late reply - I got bolts from local specialist bolt shop (permafast) and cut length to size to suit diff/prop. Its a bit of an awkward job to get the bolts in and the nut on. Bolt has to go thru from the prop shaft side as not space to get in from the diff side. Was not aware of special Jag bolts? M...

Spare wheel

Wanted - spare wheel When I bought my wheels I only got 4 plus an aerosol repair can, and so am now on the hunt for a proper spare, to fit the splined hubs that come with the Hawk front / Jag rear suspension. As its a spare it does not need to be pristine - so long as it can get me out of trouble ol...

Prop shaft speedo induction sender on jag rear end

So I learnt something new today that I thought worth sharing. I fitted my 289 with a Smiths electronic speedo driven by an induction sender which counts the flange bolts between diff and prop shaft. All appeared to work fine and it calibrated fine and read correctly at the IVA test. But then I start...

Re: Coolant catch tank

Many thanks for all the useful advice from all parties. I've not overheated yet (got the mother of all radiators!) but hopefully the overflow catch tank will bring the level up a bit higher in the expansion tank which appears too low at present. Cheers. J

Re: Coolant catch tank

Thanks Kevin - YouTube video perfect - I now know how it works - had not realised the radiator cap had a 2 way valve system.

I bought an 800ml expansion tank. Which one did you go for and in your experience is 800ml adequate?

Cheers
