Re: Petersfield Meet

Sadly, I can't make it either, as I'm waiting for IVA to resume for the Ace and the Marcos has a clutch slave cylinder leak

Re: MX5 seat fitment

BTW it helps a lot to use a cardboard template longer than the seat. Fix to the seat with the seat bolts. You can then position the seat, fixing the position of the cardboard with tape, so the cardboard can be replaced giving you the ideal seat position. Then comes the task of measuring to ensure yo...

Re: MX5 seat fitment

Hi Kev, I think it depends on how tall you are. I'm 6'2" so had to bolt to the floor to be able to look through the windscreen! You need to be very careful about the position of the chassis as for me they were where I wanted to fit the seats, so quite a bit of measuring to successfully fit, in the e...

Statutory plate

Gentlemen,
thoughts are turning to some final points on the build (I hope!) I don't have any method of measuring the various weights required i.e. laden mass of vehicle and front and rear axles. It's an Ace with 2.5 Triumph engine has anyone done this for their's?

Re: Engine builder s/e

used cmes in bracknell, which is a good old fashioned engineering business. Engine to start running in but gave 80psi oil pressure and good to deal with. May be too far away from you Simon?

Re: Goodwood Soft Top Sunday

Maybe I'm a GOM too, but it does say soft top sunday, bit of a clue? Perhaps Goodwood getting too commercial and as long as you pay anything goes. Shame if that's the case.

Re: someone to check the car for IVA compliance

Thanks for that Kevin, at this stage I was just trying to see if the engine turned over, I've checked some of the above out and all seems ok. However, as I mentioned the instructions are hopeless, but the wire to the starter has a double connector, so may be the problem. Found it late tonight, so ha...

Re: someone to check the car for IVA compliance

Cheers Kevin, that's good of you. I don't know how long the test takes to come through, but yes I'm sure it'll be Southampton. I'm hoping to be ready sometime in October. The major unknown at the moment is the wiring as I can't get any response from ECS and as you don't get a wiring diagram it's qui...
