Re: Jaguar IRS Modifications

Hi Peter,

Might be hard to measure in car but:

Drive shaft: hardy spicer centre to hardy spicer centre

Wishbone: inner fulcrum centre to outer fulcrum centre

Thanks

Re: Jaguar IRS Modifications

Thanks, I already have details of Ed.

Just wanted to know if anyone on the forum knows the actual reduction in length? I have the chance of bespoke tubular half-shafts, made to a specific length, all balanced etc. Ready to accept Jaguar ends.

I did not want to be cheeky and ask Ed. :-)

Jaguar IRS Modifications

Regarding the shortening of Jaguar (e.g. XJS Type) drive shafts and wishbones - does anyone know the actual reduction in length from the original to the Hawk 289 FIA specification? I know it's not as narrow as the E-Type, but certainly shorter than standard XJS.

Super T10

Hi

Just looking at transmission options and like the look of Super T10 4-speed for simplicity / originality. Are there any major issues with using this transmission in a Hawk chassis?

Re: Consultation on changing emissions standards for kit cars

Any more feedback on this Consultation? - Is it still possible to construct a Cobra and have the MOT test based on age of the engine for emissions or is this a thing of the past?

Re: Ford 302 Block Age

Roger, I have measured the bores (3 positions for "out of round" and top(just under lip), middle, bottom for "taper"). Results below: max. measured diameter = 4.0074" (No 3 cylinder) max. taper = 0.0059" (No 5 cylinder) max. out of round = 0.0035" (No 8 cylinder) Not as bad as I thought, with respec...

Re: Ford 302 Block Age

Roger, I have taken note of crank storage, seen that before somewhere! I'll be measuring the bores properly soon, so will let you know, but I fear that I require a bore to +30. In the meantime, this may be a silly question, but what is the blind tapped hole for next to the casting number on the 289/...
