Re: Rear wheels FIA

wild card 09

Two rules when we go out in the cars:-

1. Your are not allowed to follow another car (you must overtake)
2. you are not allowed to show a brake light!

so you are right, not enought use of the old barke pedal

Re: Rear wheels FIA

Roger & Wild Card All of what you mentioned went through my mind, especialy putting the hubs on the wrong way! but that was not the case as I used the axel off my MGB and did not remove the hubs, plus I checked books and about every wire wheel car I saw on the boat on the way home. What happened, we...

Re: Rear wheels FIA

Wild Crad Yes it is definetly your age! I carry a an MGB wire wheel as my spare and had to use it when returning from the Le Mans classic in 2006, when we were having a sprited run up to the port with my new 5.00 litre TVR engine installed and lost the front offside wheel at about 100kph Had to retu...

Re: Rear wheels FIA

Karl

Forgot to mention I also bought the wheels at the begining of 2001, perhaps on reflection splined hubs are more expensive than peg drive?

Re: Engne age

In reply to Roger. I may be luck, but I got not only an age related plate for my hawk 289 FIA but also historic tax excempt status as well. I registered it in the Brighton office so once Karl has his SVA, I am assuming he is going to do that in the UK given his comments on the German system I would ...

What I have found out is that there final drive on 5.00L chimeara/griffiths are 3.31 and there top gear ratio is 0.8 My gearbox is a 5 speed LT77 I have a listing somewhere of the ratios of that box, but can't put my hands on it at ...

I am running a standard MGB axel in my 289FIA, had a 3.5 Rover engine now I have a 5.00litre TVR chimera unit installed and have been toying with IRS etc rear ends. Decided I love the handling characteristics of a solid rear end but need to somthing about the final drive ratios. MGB V8 diff sounds l...
