Just a thought Bill, did you wait till the car was on the ground and the weight on the suspension before finally tightening everything up? If you tighten things up before taking it off the jack/stands then the bushes will be under strain all the time and will wear quicker and probably squeak too!

I also use the Mallory set-up as recommended by Peter Knight of Knight Racing Services ( http://www.knightracingservices.co.uk ) and it has proved to be an excellent piece of kit with no troubles whatsoever and great cold starting.

Hi Bill, try heating the bushes with a hair dryer or hot air gun, might help.

Trw http://www.mgocspares.co.uk and select steering rack. Two u/js here (One for chrome bumper models and one for rubber bumper models) Mine on my Hawk 289 looks like the newer one. £19.95 each, same price as Hawk cars!
