Thanks Stuart. Is that the only place you can fit the sender as it looks a bit low? On the Ford Edelbrock header there are plugs on the top of the casting at the front and back, which are easier to fit and bleed any air off. Perhaps if there are the same on the Rover one you could give that a try. h...

Not too sure about the noise but I know you can remove an LT77 gearbox from a Rover engined 289 with it on axle stands so I guess it can be done with a Ford.

As these engines don't do a particularly high annual mileage the main concern is the amount of zinc in the oil. My 1968 engine (Ford 302) was built by Peter Knight of Knight Racing Services and he advised me specifically to use mineral oil, and in particular Millers Classic Pistoneeze20/50 http://ww...
