Re: Hawk 289 IVA testing

Um me, but if you read my post in the general section - well I said I would - you might want to speak to someone who knows what they are doing. Pm if you have taken leave of your senses. Cotton mouth

Re: Well I said I would.............

Dear All, Well I went for my IVA test - and failed spectacularly. I shall recount the ghastly experience so that when you go and have problems you can say "well, by comparison (however bad it was), that was a success". Before I go any farther, the examiner was charming and very helpful and any probl...

Re: Well I said I would.............

Dog leg? what dog leg? You should read some of ramblings I have put on here! Put in a U turn if you'd like. Completing the form isn't hard, its just concerning just how little applies to our cars and leaving the rest blank. If you submit a paper copy and get it wrong, they will send the papers back ...

Re: Well I said I would.............

I have sent in the IVA documentation giving the front axle and rear Axle weights as 500kg each. I am being asked for the GVW of the vehicle. Would about 1.25 metric tons be about right? What have others used for these figures - any help gratefully recieved.

Re: Well I said I would.............

Thank you Peter and Amulheirn. Karl, dont stop the charm lessons just yet. Gerry’s thoughts were that the push rod for the front brakes should be as close to the fulcrum as possible without touching and with the rear about 1/4 of an inch out (nod to Roger) but the final adjustment was also affected ...

Re: Well I said I would.............

May I ask for a spot of help? I have a hydraulic clutch on a Mustang T5 world series gearbox with a ground down fork. I have just bled the system and now the pedal is firm but when I push no motion at the fork. The fluid is DOT 4 and brand new. Everything was clean. Any ideas as I have an IVA date a...

Re: IVA Spinners

A conference call? You are speaking to someone who thinks he is doing well if he dials the right number. Happy to talk it through if you would like, drop me a pM for a number. Perhaps you can provide a counseling session for the recurring thoughts of “did I do up that bolt?”. What is everyone using ...

Re: IVA Spinners

I have just sent off the fee for the IVA and the test is in five weekish - would this help as I am in Harrogate? Any advice of odd bits and pieces before the test full tank etc?

Re: Well I said I would.............

Many thanks Clive. Moving on slowly, moved the rear fog light to the off side (thank you Karl - the irony of a German being more au fait with the English IVA is not lost on me), installed the temperature senders for oil and water, just ordering the oil pressure line, all silicone pipes removed and s...

Re: Well I said I would.............

In terms of the statutory plate, am I right in thinking I only need the name of the kit maker, chassis VIN, the engine number and the front and rear axle weights? If so what do people put for front and rear weights please?
