Re: LeMans Classic

I wouldn't be, Clive - they're all closed for the duration! My old practice has closed because they can't get the PPE, partly due to idiots buying them to wear in the street. The kind of mask you see the Chinese and Japanese tourists etc. wearing will do you more harm than good, a sure-fire way of e...

Re: LeMans Classic

I'm doing Minis to Monte in September, and that's still planning to run. Also the Prologue Tour, which should have been next weekend (weekend after the Members' Meeting), has been moved to 2nd-3rd October, which I have entered in the Series 2A Landie - so I think events later in the year will probab...

Re: Bushing bolt seized - now what?

Dave, you can get half nylocs which are shallower. Type T, like this:

And anything you do with 'percy' probably has no place on a public forum.

Re: Bushing bolt seized - now what?

WD40 is a water dispersant, not a penetrating oil - the clue is in the 'WD'. Plus Gas or similar might help. As suggested elsewhere Dave, I think cutting each side with a cantilevered hacksaw blade is your best bet. Heat would be madness, in my view... and if, as you suggest, the bolt shank has rust...

Re: It’s back.....

Chaps - I don't know if you know, but I have an experimental Cobra price tracker spreadsheet going. Am trying to put in the prices and specs (as far as I can tell) in as I come across things for sale. The car at the top of this thread was for sale in Feb 2019 for 60K, but is now up for £75K. There ...

Re: 289 five bolt/T10

Hi Karl, It's good to hear from you, too! Thinking about it, it might be possible to fit a T10 to a Hawk trans mount bracket using the Mustang gearbox rubber mounting, but I'm pretty sure you'd need to make up a spacer block of 1-1½" as the casting on the gearbox it bolts up to is higher up on the c...

Re: 289 five bolt/T10

Hi Karl, Is this an aluminium case T10 or a cast-iron Galaxie-style one? Be aware that fitting a T10 will require cutting off the old gearbox mount on the Hawk chassis (Mustang style) and welding on a new one (Galaxie style). The T10 trans mount is at a different height than the toploader/T5 mount, ...

Re: CORRECT wheel spinners

Hi Mark, and thanks for the info. Those would have been the standard MWS style spinner, which was pretty much all you could get back in the nineties and is what I have on my car currently. What I'm hoping we can produce here are spinners to the pattern AC would have supplied with the Thames Ditton c...

Re: CORRECT wheel spinners

Hi Frank,
I can't give a price until we know numbers. The more we order, the cheaper they will be. I'll let you know when I have an idea from the manufacturer.

CORRECT wheel spinners

I thought I'd post this again in a different section as there's not been a lot of response in the 'general' section, so here it is in the other 'general' section... There are no chrome two-eared spinners available at the moment that are the same design as the original Cobra ones. The standard offeri...
