Re: Door rubbers / seal options

Well, my boot has never smelt of anything except spare tyre! I don't let silicone anywhere near my paintwork, but haven't had any issues with the seals so the problem hasn't arisen. I don't know the reason for the gaps, but it was true of all regular production CSX/COB/COX cars as far as my research...

Re: Rear camber

The factory figure for a 289 Cobra was -0.5-1.0˚, but obviously that was for a completely different suspension geometry to a Hawk - one that actually did have some similarity to a Triumph Herald's.

Re: Powered by Ford Emblems

Come on, now, Clive. Original badges were retained by two pins cast into the base and rectangular spring clips.

Or was that a suggestion for covering the holes?

Re: Powered by Ford Emblems

I didn't think you were, Dave! However, it's worth having a think. I did it the hard (read expensive) way! I had them on my Hawk, and without thinking, or doing my research, I automatically drilled the holes for them on my current car, and fitted them. Then the penny dropped, and you wouldn't believ...

Re: Wanted - Headers for 289/302

It's such a long time ago, I'm afraid I can't remember which ones I tried - I think they were Hedman and JBA. I sent both back to Summit in the end, I think. A pity because JBA are beautifully made - I have a big-bore set of shorties on my Mustang - and come ceramic coated and didn't need a single h...

Re: Wanted - Headers for 289/302

When I had my Hawk, I had difficulty removing the exhaust due to the downpipe having rusted and seized in the clamp fitting to the headers. I tried three or four different block hugger types of aftermarket manufacture, but none would work as they required substantial modification. Basically the coll...

Re: Silverstone Classic

I think this is why they've held off for so long compared with all the other events - Silverstone's activities revolve entirely around F1, so they couldn't cancel the Classic outright early on - wouldn't send the right signal - but they can't confirm it until the F1 calendar is sorted, which is look...
