Re: The Government consultation is now out

It has nothing to do with the UK govt - but it has everything to do with the European Roadworthiness Directive, and our compliance with this. As ever, EU law overrules UK law, so all bets are off regarding back-dating etc.

Re: Clutch pedal solid. Rover V8 & LT 77 box

Depends on the type of mc. Internal failure won't necessarily leak and can cause the pedal to go solid.

Just looking at the master cylinder doth butter no parsnips. Your seals have gone, I reckon.

Re: spinner removal

I'm not into jam-making, but I did persevere - however there's a limit as to how many times I am prepared to pester someone who is trying to enjoy their retirement!

Re: Experience of Sleeved 289 block?

If you really fancy a 289 (albeit 6-bolt), they are common enough on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ford-289-engine-/142479858735?fits=Make%3AFord Just change your shipping address to Ron's depot in FL (or the shipper of your choice) and hit the button. Yes, you'll have shipping charges, duty and tax...

Re: Experience of Sleeved 289 block?

Given that info, I'd go for a 302 block and crank. A 6-bolt 289 is just as 'incorrect'* as a 302, so why bother?

Good job we didn't get on to gearboxes...

Re: Experience of Sleeved 289 block?

Hello Bill, and welcome. 289 blocks and 302 blocks are virtually identical and have only a very few visual differences in appearance. 302 blocks are more easy to come by, but you need to clarify what you are trying to achieve. Why do you want a 289 block, and what style of car are you building? If y...

Re: Brake light switch 4-way union

My invoice lists product code of HU31SPECIAL - but you could quote my invoice number, which is 86669, order number 17942.
First, check that this will work for a Hawk, as my braking system is to AC spec not Hawk. Probably is, but you need to be sure.
