Those gauges are Smiths / Lucas The clock is the same as fitted to a Ford Zephyr, they come up occasionally on fleabay in various state of repair. That type of fuel and ammeter are difficult to track down with the needle pointing downwards, the ammeter would have been badged as Lucas and is similar ...

Re: MGB axle noise

Hi Simon,
It is standard practice to put a "set" in the panhard rod as it does catch the diff cover. It's straight forward to do with a decent 25mm pipe bender as I think its only made from cds tube. If I remember I'll send you a picture tonight.

Re: MGB axle issues

A normal garage should be able to do it, in the absence of an MG specialist. You just need to advise them of the preload on the pinion nut and it needs to be tightened back to the exact same place rather than just tightening it up. Its not beyond the means of a reasonable mechanic, I did mine

Re: MGB axle issues

Hi Simon,
The front pinion seal is not a five minute fix.
Read my write up on refurbing the axle.
Home page, building and servicing your 289, Building a 289 Stuart Clarke, refurbing the axle.
You may/should be able to replace in situ if you've got access to a four post lift
