It is my belief that the 'CSX' 289 cars were 5 bolt as they were produced up to 1964 The AC 289 'COX' cars were produced later and could well have been 6 bolt. Some things in life are made to make your brain hurt. All I can think of is its a way of lowering the roll centre.
Check out the sexy composite springs, some money been thrown at that !

I use a Thor type hammer with screw on plastic faces. The white ones are very hard and hold up well. I can tell by the sound when they are tight. I made my Panhard rod out of 1" thick wall seamless tube. I have one end with a polybush and one end with a 1/2" x 1/2" rodend. Certainly no pics of the underside, may have some under the bonnet. I will have a look, its not all pretty and blingy tho. More your workaday than Sunday best.
