Re: Overheating Issues

The electronic gauges from Smiths are poor in their reliability and accuracy. I would buy a reasonable quality hand held laser temp reader and check the engine temp against the gauge. The temp readers work best looking at a matt black hose or surface, they don't like shiny reflective surfaces. If yo...

Re: Rover powered 289's

So putting in 0.83 as a 5th ratio means I get 30mph at 1000rpm in the calculator which is what I have on the road.

Cheers Roger for finding the second ratio, I could only find one.

Re: Rover powered 289's

I think I have around 30 mph per thousand rpm in 5th so 90 mph = 3000 rpm, but using the above calculator with the following inputs.......
205 / 70 /15,
0.79 5th gear
3.07 axle
I get 32.26 per thousand, equates to 96.78 mph at 3000rpm

So a little discrep somewhere.

Re: Shelby Brock Daytona coupe

Well I guess if you see it first off then yes it is very desirable, but having seen all six originals at Goodwood it would not be on my must have list, I prefer the original in its raw form.
