Re: Insurance Valuation

Clive I'm with Norton / Heritage as well and they haven't asked for a valuation but only queried if I'm happy with the value I've requested. It appears I might be able to go higher without an increase in premium so I what I want to do is ascertain what value others put on their cars. Whilst I've mad...

Re: Scenery and Airports

Perhaps he is relating to the colour of his rear end after being run over by a Cobra.

Seriously are we able to label these senders as span for future auto binning like I do with Google and ensure they stop posting all this rubbish

Insurance Valuation

Has anyone used either Hawk or Thunder Road for an insurance valuation and do they charge for this service. My gut feel is that Gerry would base the value on replacement cost and Thunder Road would base it on potential selling price What do other members do? I have just renewed my insurance at agree...

Re: Technical dates, help needed

Johanne I shouldn't worry about the English it perfectly good enough to understand and 100% better than my German Ref the age of components I went onto the web site for Rover SD1 to view engine numbers for my V8 and applicable dates Together with my 1967 log book it was enough to convince authoritie...

Re: door latch

Hi, I've never needed to touch this as Gerry fitted it before delivery
As you say you probably need to drill and tap a suitable hole and insert a stud
Maybe worth a quick begging email to Gerry to see if he will sell only the catch rather than a complete set

Re: Fuses

Peter Obviously it depends how your electrical items are grouped together as to amp rating needed for each circuit You would need to investigate how many watts for each item attached to each fused circuit. For reference Hawk use 10amp to everything except side lights and instruments grouped as follo...

Re: Battery

Migge Just a thought are you trying to mount the battery near the bottom of the gap between inner wing and footwell as I can't understand how you have lost so much space with only one thin layer of Ali on the inner wing. The footwell should be left as white fibreglass! My Hawk supplied battery shelf...

Re: Annual Insurance Capers

This doesn't sound encouraging for my future renewal!
Last October Heritage ( Norton ) insured me with Chaucer at £34K agreed value for £241.50 having supplied a car description and 6 photos 2-3 years earlier
Maybe it's cos I'm over 60?
