Re: Welsh tour for 2020 - 4th to 7th Sept

Hi Gordon, I do hope you choose to join the 289 Register to take advantage of the clubs activities and magazine. On a recent Scottish Tour 2 new members were very pleased with the welcome they rec’d from us. The fact that our membership has increased considerably in the last year must be an indicati...

Re: Quad webbers

Simon, my limited knowledge of the Weber’s is that IDA’s are race carbs and will flow more air and give more power at the top end. IDF’s are more suitable for the road. There might be a difference in height so you need to check if they will fit under the bonnet without a serious mod to the bonnet bu...

Compulsory speed limiters

Hi Guys, can I suggest that you sign a petition in an attempt to avoid getting speed limiters and black boxes in every car from 2022. Hi Simon,
That’s not a problem at all.
I’ll pm you my address and then it’s a question of when we can find a free date.

Re: Engine Oil for Rover engines

Michael, I had the same advice on the use of genuine Land Rover oil filters from a member who hill climbs his 5.2 L Rover engined MGB.
For reference Part number is LERR3340X.

Re: Tonneau fitted

Hi Clive, I think you meant to say ‘without a hood’ and yes you are mostly correct. It all depends how heavy the rain is and how much going to make the carpets soggy.
I note in your last photo all the others had hoods up so I am not alone.

Re: Tonneau fitted

Thanks for that Clive I will have to give it a go. Rather surprised I haven’t managed that to date.
Obviously too keen to get the tonneau off the roll bar.
