Re: Thoughts on diff ratios

Thanks Peter. I’ve done some maths and I think the 2.88 with the straight through 4th gear will give about 30mph per 1000. What are you running with? This is going to sound silly but I was wondering if that long a diff would put unnecessary load on the box and clutch etc under heavy acceleration (I ...

MSD ignition setup

Anybody have any experience of MSD ignition installation and setup.

Mainly curious as to whether or not this is worth the investment and how complex it is to install/configure.

Cheers.

Thoughts on diff ratios

So for my next trick, I’m going to replace my MGC/Quaife rear with the Jag IRS option. I’m currently running a close ratio Toploader with a 3.07 diff. I’ve been given the option of a Jag 2.88 powerlock diff but worry it will be too long. Great for cruising but harder work for the box and clutch and ...

I’ll bring mine along too.

How many do we think we need. Sounds like a big space.

Re: Front hub install

Hi Clive. Thanks for coming back on this.

I slackened off the top nut in the end and aligned the top and bottom. Has all gone together fine now. I just wasn’t sure as I’d assumed Moss Europe would have built it properly so assumed I was missing something.

Thanks again.

Front hub install

I’m finally installing my rebuilt front hubs and have an issue with one of them. Pic attached. It is a new stub axle assembly but the top and bottom mount points seem to be out of alignment. I’m assuming these should be parallel and this is a supply issue. Does anybody have a view. Thanks. Dave. 671...

MGB front brake dust covers

Quick question. I’m just rebuilding my front hubs and wondered what people’s thoughts are on the dust shields. I’ve often thought the offside front disk scraped on occasion against the cover when turning right but can’t imagine why this would be the case. Contemplating leaving them off. Cheers Dave.

Re: Silverstone Classic 2019

Good shout Clive. It was a great place to stay though some of the navigation between the hotel and the circuit was a little questionable! :D

How do we go about registering the club for the event?

Hope not :D

Thanks.
