Re: FBHVC DOT survey re increasing ethanol in fuels.

Don`t be too afraid of the E10, I am running my BMW 130i (2006, 3 l, 265 HP) with E10 95 Octane since many years and also use it in the Dodge van (360ci, 1976) on the long runs with towing. Only when it is stored for a longer time (winter) I fill it with Super E5. On the motorways in France and Belg...

Re: AC Frua

Hello everybody! As the interested person in the USA did stop the conversation after he had all the information and is not answering e-mails anymore we have to assume that he is no longer interested. So the car is up for sale again, it is a very well restored coupe with manual gearbox and on histori...

Re: Pads for Gerry's Calipers

Stuart, are you talking about the four pot aluminium calipers? They are Hi Spec brakes , Billet four. You can find the pad dimensions on their website.

Re: Pinking under load!

John, I don?t know what carb you use. On a standard Holley there is a timed vacuum source to which the distributor needs to be connected. Also, if you have a vacuum operated second stage try with the weakest spring available (if I remember correct it is marked white). Also you need to check if your ...

Re: Pinking under load!

John, timing at idle is not that important, what harms the engine is is the fully advenced timing with the centrifugal weights fully out. Check the degrees you have there with the vacuum disconnected. You should not see more than 35 degrees BTDC at around 3000 revs. Depending on what you find you ca...

Re: Tyre Options

Sorry gents, the "E" mark and the EU tyre lable are two different things. Please go to Wikipedia and check "EU tyre label" The Blockey tyres don`t have that, so can only be used on cars first registered before Oct. 1990 That is EU law, so as you are leaving you are not bothered. Just when you export...

Re: Tyre Options

Hi Clive,
just checked with a dealer who is selling them over here.
They have no EU label, so can only be used on cars registered before the first of October 1990.

Re: Tyre Options

Are the Blockley tyres "E" marked? I also don`t see any measurements, load index, rolling radius aso. They just say they are "V" rated. Has this been tested by an independent organisation?
Just to check if they would be road legal in Germany as the other brands are.
