I think we are probably similar ages, but our postcode will not be helpful.

Hi
Finally the car is in a state where it can be MOT'd !
Have been looking at insurance quotes but everyone has mentioned brokers not the underwriters who you would have to deal with in the case of an accident.
I have had two quotes from Sureteam (Highway Insurance) and PremiumChoice(Marcusstudy) but both these insurance companies have bad reviews Footman James quoted twice as much but with Aegeas who have better reviews. Does anyone know of a good insurance company where my premium is likely to be less than £260 living down near worthing now.
Cheers

Hi Tony,

£260 doesn't sound too bad to me, given where you live.

Have you tried Hagerty or Heritage?

I use Heritage.
Just renewed at £240 and when I requested a minor rise in the agreed value they suggested I upped the value further at no additional cost !
It appears that they checked out two recent adverts for Cobras on the web, one being Roger's interim car at £39k and another at £42K so they got the value increased to £39k. It appears that Hawk's in particular are considered a more desirable buy.
A most unexpected outcome.
