I'm inclined to agree with Roger. What would an Ace wheel look like in there?

Apart from the need for refurb(plastic splitting on spokes, see cableties!), it was unpleasant to use, a Derrington(Ace) wheel was a consideration, but when I told Dad I could fit 39PH's wheel, there could be no other result! The only way Dad will remove the wheel now will be to refit it to 39PH; we await delivery(breath not held ).

Does this mean you have the wheel that was on 39PH ? Or am inbeing completely thick...

Yes, Sam. Dad owned 39PH from '67 -'73, and now owns the AC Greyhound that I fitted to.
When we did the Sussex GT at Goodwood a couple of years ago, Sir Paul Vestey said that wheel & car should be reunited, Dad agreed, asking when we could expect delivery of the Cobra!!!

That's seriously cool, do you have any photos of the car when your family owned it ? Does your dad miss it ? (Stupid question)
Also if the wheel ever goes up for sale, but I'm sure there's a queue !

Clear view of the Rev counter, which was already mounted as high in the dash as possible (you can just make out the 'half-moon' left in the dash where it was originally mounted).

Thanks Nik. I would have assumed that the vertical spoke would obscure the rev counter on more occasions than it it were in the conventional positioned, but I'm not sitting in the driving seat and I'm not your Dad.
