That's a nice car, but not exactly what you'd call "original spec". It is what Kirkham call a 289 Hybrid, because it has a Mk.III could-sprung chassis.

So, it's basically an AC289, which according to many what has driven all 3 variants, is the best of the bunch! :D

I thought that an AC289 had a big arches not slab side. That is to say a Mk 3 ( 427 ) body but with a 289 engine as sold to Europe when Shelby had lost interest in 1965 as he was involved in the GT40 program.

Correct Peter. I was merely alluding to the 'optimum' combo of MkIII chassis with 289 powerplant. :oops:
