I'm interested too. Mark and I communicated on PM and I was going to see if I can get a couple of copies bought by a friend of mine in the US and posted over. If you're still interested I will make that three, Chris.

Mark - I've been on holiday so will get on the case with that now.

Cheers,
Andy

Sorry chaps - been a bit tied up. John H, our membership secretary says he can do this for us when he's in the US in August. Can you wait until then? My friend who lives in the US is being a bit difficult to get hold of for some reason.

Cheers,
Andy

It's a great book, really useful - you won't regret it. An incredible resource which goes into fine detail.

I hope so... I am looking for info on the finer details for my 289 HiPo right now... Silly little things like the correct air cleaner wing nut that 99% of people will never notice or even care about... I think I need to change my user name too OCD...

Scott Drake are now making the correct wing nut, with the dimple to lock on the correct double-hump lid:
https://mustangmaniac.co.uk/part/42/298 ... _nut_64-73

to go with the correct air cleaner:
https://mustangmaniac.co.uk/part/38/841 ... ir_cleaner

Then, of course, you'll need the correct 'Autolite' and 'Fomoco' stickers:
https://mustangmaniac.co.uk/part/32/208 ... aner_decal
https://mustangmaniac.co.uk/part/32/215 ... 4-68_8_cyl

...and the one for the oil filler:
https://mustangmaniac.co.uk/part/32/837 ... _cap_decal

Not sure if all those will apply to your car as it's a bit later, but as far as I can tell they are correct for a late leafspring car.

Also, you need to bear in mind that Bob Mannel's book is not directed at Cobras. There is no Cobra-specific stuff in there as mostly it relates to the domestic market, i.e. Mustangs, Comets, Fairlanes etc. Cobras could be a law unto themselves, particularly with casting numbers and details like stamped engine numbers - parts were often pulled out of the nearest bin, and don't always follow any pattern regarding useage. There is no substitute for trawling through as many photos as you can find and deciding which was the most likely for your car. A lot of this info is just not recorded anywhere and you have to rely on other owners' input and your own research.

I don't have the "double" hump... Rightly or wrongly i am going with the Original 1966 Hipo air cleaner lid and base i have to sit on my Autolite carb that has just turned up from the USA.... :-) 6105 has double as does 6111, 6107 has later style so who knows?????

I am sure the book will help me out with the smaller details on the correct brackets pipes, Nut/bolts and Painting that i doubt AC would have changed.
Thanks for the links roger.
