289 from DAX?

Post by Migge »

Purchased an old Kit Car mag from 1988 and found an article and some pics about the demonstrator 289 from DAX (DJ Sportscars International).
It was a 427 reshaped and trimmed back to the 289 curves. It got a 4.2 Ltr. straight six engine and a three speed automatic box. A full detailed brochure was available also.

Does anybody know if it got into production? Maybe for just a few cars?

Have never heard before that DAX did a 289 version, not even as a prototyp.

Cheers

Hi Michael, Never heard of this before. Perhaps if you post the question on the Cobra Club website you would get an answer.
Cheers, Clive.

Post on the Cobra Club website.

Spoke to the Guys at Dax on the weekend there was one made, but due to a lack of demand they never bothered with the 289. As to it's whereabouts nobody new!
Cheers, Clive.

it only took them a weekend to make it?

Not surprised there was no demand.
