PHOTOGRAPHS

Post by kaiserbilly1 »

It's been a while since I posted any photos on the forum and things have changed.
What is the best way to upload photographs now?

Hi Bill,
I have found that www.imgur.com is the best since Photobucket messed things up. It's actually easier and quicker.
Cheers, Clive.

..Or...

When you are in the 'full' reply or post page, bottom left, click on "Attachments", then "Add files" and select your photo. Note, image size is limited this way.

Hi - yes, that's right. Here's a screenshot of where to attach files when uploading them to the Forum.

It won't take full-res photos because we would run out of space quite quickly. It will take files that are half a megabyte (512Kb) in size, which is more than good enough for on-screen display. Downside is you have to re-size images before posting, but the upside is if Imgur ever do what Photobucket did, your pictures are safe since they're on the club server.

An update on this:

I have configured the forum so that it will accept images from your phone/camera or whatever without you needing to resize them first.

The forum software will automatically resize them in the background to save our disk from being filled up very quickly.

If you want to road-test this, feel free to try attaching some images to this thread and see how you get on. Please report problems to wiki@the289register.com

Nice photo!

You can also drag and drop a picture from your desktop to the text box, it seems.
