I have photos somewhere of a Cobra in fluorescent pink with ‘hi-viz’ yellow wheels which I saw in Mallorca many years ago...

Back on topic, I really like the blue, but the black looks beastly!! 8)

Of course if it has enough horses under the bonnet it will be a beast!
I’m sure quite a few have nick named their car by that name.

I also posted this question on FB and it seems that most people would prefer the blue, some were quite vociferous about it, which I find odd. Here's a few more that I was inspired by,

Just remember that every one of our cars is that bit different. It’s our individual take on what we think the car should look like.
If you want to show a more obvious difference then change to black as there are quite clearly not many around.
From memory Peter Adams car is black and Roger King’s. Of course black is a correct original colour from AC which a lot of the blue’s would not have been.
Black obviously appeals and of course it is your car.
I think you are already convinced that black is best regardless of what we think.

On a different subject - just look at the clearance on those front arches especially in 2nd photo !

Hi Pete, yes black does appeal, but to be honest I'm not totally convinced that it's the right decision to change it. The black would kill the shape of it, which might not be too bad an idea knowing how innacurate the body is, but the blue does seem to get noticed, it's certainly no shrinking violet in that colour. As mentioned, I do like the "worn" look and it is easy to live with as it is as, so maybe I should leave it as is for now and see how I feel about changing it some other time if it feels right. Whilst I like the idea of change, I'm afraid of losing something about the car in doing so.

I think you are right.
That element of doubt that something will not be quite as good as it is now.
E.g. my nicely worn in shoes comparison.
Finish Owain’s car and then start THE project. That will make you happy.

Well there will be another black one very soon! I expect to get mine back n a couple of weeks....once I have a few of the pieces back on including wheels I will share some snaps!
That front clearance is high. I had a conversation with Gerry once who said most cobras are set way to low. that picture would support that thought!

On closer inspection those front arches on the second picture look like they have a double extension! Maybe a trick of the light???

Just rec’d the latest 289 newsletter and guess what - another black one !
The livery of CSX 2128 - as driven by Dave MacDonald.
It’s like red buses - nothing for ages and then a series of them together.
