colour

Post by agnoraan »

Toying with the idea of painting my Cobra, so I thought I'd throw it open to see what others think. I like the blue, but wonder if it's due a colour change. Paint it gloss black or keep it blue?

I'm being influenced by Leo Voayazides car as well as the Bell &Colvill13COB

Hi Nige,
I have never been a fan of black. It’s looks nice with reflections in the showroom with a new car but shows every spec of dirt there after. I’m not suggesting that you would allow your car be left dirty but in Black it would need constant attention.
Isn’t the current paintwork now having a tiny bit of patina making the car look older and more likely an original?
My vote would be leave it as is.

Interestingly Nige, 13 COB was just resprayed at the end of last year...same colour scheme but it was looking a bit tired according to the guys that look after the mechanicals. Mine was next to it for several weeks while I had some new suspension parts. Gerry's Daytona Coupe was the other side!

I actually like your existing colour scheme:)

I'm another fan of blue. To me it shows off the shape and curves better than black. (Sorry Phil & John H.)

HI All, yes I am committed based on the 13 OCB, I think she looks stunning... I agree that black can be a pain to look after but I did have a black Merc once and actually it surprised me how easy it was to maintain. But I am also a clean car person unlike Clive ha ha!

I can't wait to get mine back and see how she has turned out! I will share some photos once I have her back together.

I thought that I would be out voted and that black would be considered better and giving an aggressive and better look.
Blue is of course used by most so could be considered too same ish.

Hi Peter, I have to say the first car I saw in the flesh as it were was Clives, and the colour is fantastic. I do believe the classic beauty of the cobra, whatever version, looks good in just about everything. Unless someone can provide wrong!
