Green 289 in Oakham

Post by Marsh »

Hello Chaps

I was delighted to see a mid Green 289 in Oakham, Rutland earlier today.

It's either a Hawk or a BRA and is registed KLD***D. It's a local car, as I have seen it fleetingly in the past.

Does anyone know it, as I'd like to connect with the owner.

Best regards

Perhaps it's changed colour....

Thanks Clive - that sort of 'looks' like the car, but I can't be 100% sure as it seemed to have much more a Hawk stance than the one shown here.

Let's see who else steps forward, but in the meantime, thank you.

I've run this one through the DVLA vehicle check to see what colour is logged on their database and the car comes up as an AC Cobra (cheeky) and is shown as Red, so I do wonder if this is in fact the same car that I saw today.

There used to be another 289 on the register based in West Yorkshire with the same lettered reg number and very similar number. Unfortunately they don't appear to be a member of The 289 Register any more. I don't have any info on colour though.
Cheers, Clive.

That car will be a BRA with the straight cills.
I thought that in recent forum discussions it had been highlighted that BRA’s were registered as MGB BRA so not sure how they get away with AC.
There is always the possibility that the DVLA used the ‘AC Cobra’ as the model description as apposed to the manufacturer.
