Wiper blade arms

Post by KevinW »

I have noticed that most Hawks have their wipers parked nicely parallel with the the lower edge of the windscreen. Many cobra replicas, including mine have the wipers at an angle when parked, wihch looks fairly amateur. Does anyone have a suitable part number for these better positioned wiper ams? thanks

Just bend the arm. Simples.
Cheers, Clive.

As Clive says, mine were at about 30 degrees before I adjusted them.

thanks for the replies.
- so: place in vice and apply hammer, or is there a more delicate way to make the mod?

Hold the end that the blade fits to in the vice and bend gently by hand.
Cheers, Clive.

I don’t remember having to bend mine. Do you have the correct sweep of the blades. There are differing cams for the wiper motor that give differing sweeps.

Looking at your car Peter, it seems you might have had arms that were pre-bent. Mine were straight and just didn't look right when parked, therefore I bent mine to suit. (Perhaps they could do with being bent a little more)

Mine are kinked, but not enogh to lie correctly on the screen. The sweep is fine, once I changed the cam to park on the desired side.
