Spotted at North Weald

Post by simonjrwinter »

Interesting story behind this car, body was found crushed in a skip, and while it looks like an old 60’s race car, it was only painted in 2019 and “patinated” I loved it!

Some one postet this pic on FB last year at the Open day at Cheng Lims Thunder Road Cars garage. Word was that the "aged" Cobra is a Hawk. The rear arches were a bit smaller last year.

It has a leaf spring front end and an extremely scruffy (ie dented and distressed) body. I’m pretty sure the chap may have bought parts from Gerry but I don’t know about a chassis….?

A real leaf spring? Or just a fake one you can see in the engine bay? No pics Simon?

I understand it’s a “bitsa” assembled from parts collected over 30 years most of which are original AC parts. Registered apparently as an AC. Sorry no more pictures

Interesting that nobody knows the real story behind this creation and that only four members are in the discussion :-(
