Bit of an 'engine' week, this week....
Bought the spare 289 yesterday, and have now just been offered a totally original and correct 1968 Cooper 'S' engine and box for my current project! Rare as hen's teeth!
Really excited!

An apt time of year for 'feeling like a kid at Christmas'. Nice one!

Well, I must admit that for an hour or so the other day I found myself driving what was technically a 7.7 litre BMW 3-series... hmmm....nikbj68 wrote:Don`t get so excited that you forget which one goes where!!!

I have a little game called 'count the cylinders', where I add up all I own as running engines, static engines, bare blocks etc. I'm currently at 74...

Most I can claim is 41 at one time, which comprised 2 trials bikes, one road single, one road twin, a Fiat 500, Mini Clubman and 7 Citroen CX 2.4`s(5 cars & 2 engines)!!!

My highest total was in the late 80s, when I cleared the 100 mark. This was partly down to 3 Riley RMs, but the greatest contribution was down to having 6 Triumph GT6s, one of which was my daily hack. All were late MkIIIs, which gave me something like 1/500th of total production hidden in the lockups of St Ives!
