As Jimmie said, thanks for posting, is it just me or is there some kind of link between the older aircraft and cars? I know a lot of people that have an interest in both.

cheers..Nige

I went there earlier this year to a special event they had where they brought along one of the test pilots and the few remaining aircrew of some of the most daring Mosquito raids. A print of the prototype flying over the place where it was designed was signed by them all and is on its way to a family member as a Xmas present soon. Only one hangar but with 3 Mossies in it and other DH aircraft outside - many of which you can actually sit in.

At the recent Classic show at the NEC I was talking to a guy on the MAC stand and we were talking about Shelsley Walsh. In the conversation he told me that he was now 75 years old and had really enjoyed the time he had spent hillclimbing. He also told me that he had scored FTD at a Shelsley meeting, he was driving a serious single seater.
Anyway, he told me that he had given up hill climbing a few years ago and taken up .............................flying, which he was still doing.

I went home and told my wife she should be grateful and that if she pressed me to give up sprinting and hillclimbing I may take up flying!

One of my Great Uncles was "lost" over the North Sea in a Mosquito. He was on a solo patrol and got shot down by an ME109 patrol. His navigator's body was found, but he never was.
They're a fantastic aircraft and hugely under appreciated.
