Re: How to...Caster, Camber, Toe, Offsets and Suspension.
Er - how to? ...or how not to?
With that much camber, why not just fit 145 tyres? You'd have the same amount of rubber on the ground.
Dunno, I must be getting too old for car modification. I just don't get it!

What is the point?
Most modifications are generally intended to make something better, misguided or not, but I've followed cars modified in this way and the drivers struggled to keep them on the road.

Seems like a good way to spend a lot of money (this stuff ain't cheap) to utterly destroy a car's dynamics and make it look completly silly.
Why not just strap a large rubber kn*b to the top of your head?
I guess kids have always enjoyed modifying cars (I know I did), and now there's nothing they can do to the motors etc. they do this. I don't know how they get through MOTs.

Got to agree with the guys on this one. I know I'm not really a "conformist" when it comes to my ideas but WTF!
Why don't they get rid of the wheels all together and get a hovermower - esque car instead!

Well, it looks like the 2017 new MOT rules will wipe this lot out, here's a link to a thread running about it

Well, normally I rant against any regulatory interference with the enjoyment of cars, but it's difficult to feel any sympathy with these guys. However, the devil is always in the detail with legislation like this and it could still bite us.

I've always viewed this kind of thing in the same way that I view those trousers that some people wear - you know the ones? They allow innocent bystanders to get a significant glimpse of the wearer's undercrackers. A triumph of form over function.
As the scourge of shopping precincts everywhere, I hope the 2017 MOT rules can do something to get rid of this too.

My daughter actually pays extra money for jeans with holes in the knees. I have made the obvious offer, as a dutiful parent happy to make a few bob on the side, but for some reason that is apparently 'not the same'.amulheirn wrote:I've always viewed this kind of thing in the same way that I view those trousers that some people wear - you know the ones?
