The Grand Tour

Post by Roger King »

OK, so I watched it. And I enjoyed it. Childish in places, but mostly felt like TG without the BBC constraints. I'm obviously a kid at heart. Hey ho!

How do you watch it Roger? I'm a bit of a thickie when it comes to technology. :?
Cheers, Clive.

On the Interweb or on a TV with an Amazon Prime app.

I've just watched in and on the whole, good fun. As you said Roger, a bit silly in places, bug what the heck. I noticed in the preview at the start of the program that they're featuring a little Italian convertible with a matt black bonnet later in the series.

How did the P1 end up the slowest when it was the fastest through all of the speed traps? :?

So I've got to fork out £79 a year to watch it?
Cheers, Clive.

No Clive, you need a 26-yr-old daughter who subscribes to Amazon Prime and who might have forgotten to keep an eye on her password.
Download Amazon instant TV to your Wii, and away you go!

Otherwise, yes, not worth it.

Indeed. I'm flattered that you describe it as Italian - but I'd have to say it certainly feels Italian. It definitely has a delightful amount of Italian turbo lag, which is hugely entertaining whilst learning to drive around it!! At 3500 rpm the rest of the world suddenly gets a lot closer...

The P1 wasn't really the slowest, they all won a couple of goes each! Although I'd have to say I'm struggling to see the point of the Ferrari. A car that can't be road registered, and they won't let it out on trackday comparisons... is this the one that has to be kept at Maranello, or am I thinking of something else? Only for the seriously super-super-rich, I think

I've neither a 26 yr old daughter or Wii so I'll pass.
Cheers, Clive.

It'll be all over the net any time soon, I'm sure.

Apparently the new test track is RAF Wroughton:

Visited it a couple of years back as a checkpoint on one of the MSA classic rallies - it's the Science Museum's 'big stuff' store.

We built the Science Museums big store at Wroughton.

Have a look on Google Maps and you can see the test track at the northern end of the site.
