Guys, let’s be fair this wasn’t a simple bolt.
Squared headed with an undercut between thread and shaft to ensure nut tightens fully but no thread left in the working dia of the bolt shank. I have had to draw up and get a few of those made in my time.
Also we don’t know the material either so it might not be a standard 8.8 strength.
Ali ? Titanium ? St Stl?
Looked like it went into stress relieving but didn’t see a hardening process although they checked the hardness after checking the thread profile.

If I wanted to make sure my nuts didn't come off, I'd definitely have them attached with an undercut shaft on a bolt like this.
