Kit Car Show Sunday 5th, Monday 6th May 2019

Post by StewbieC »

I've received confirmation from the organisers of the Kit Car show that they are willing to give us some Hall Space FOC for the National Kit Car show in May.
This is a real coup as normally clubs only get allocated space outside on the grass.
I'm supporting Gerry this year so my car will be there already, I'm willing to do the organising but I'm looking for volunteers willing to show their cars inside Hall 3 for the show. They've allocated us a slot 30m x 9m originally which is a huge space and is a show that we haven't done for many, many years.
Normal service is to deliver cars on Saturday afternoon and drive after off after it shuts on Monday. I'll be there for those times to support. If you could advise if you would be interested, it would be appreciated. (it may well be Gerry's last show (which hasn't officially been confirmed)).
It's quite a popular show at the National Agricultural centre in Stoneleigh Warwickshire https://www.nationalkitcarshow.co.uk/
Let me know if you are up for it.
Cheers
Stuart

Would like to assist with the Executor but it's a long way to drive. I don't know if I'm in Silverstone this year either.
Was in Stoneleigh many times from 2002 on, great event when the weather is fine. Was there at 8°C and storm and 25°C and sun. 100+ Cobras at Sunday. Mainly 427 but a handful of 289 too.

Wow! I did notice last year that there was a lot of empty space in one hall at least, so better for the show to fill the floorspace.
Will check the diary...😉

I am up for this, I hope we can get a few more cars, though!

I've now committed to the organisers that we are going to attend.
We have a couple of definites, Thank you John Coward, Thank you Graham Nutt and Thank you Ian Hunter and a few TBC's
This is a great chance for members to get together with the added advantage of it being quite a large show.
So come on you Ace, 289, 289 leMans, 289FIAs, 427 and Daytona owners, this is an opportunity to get some miles on the clock and share sometime with fellow enthusiasts with the added advantage of having your cars protected should we get a shower.

This is quite a coup for The 289 Register, we have room for a great gaggle of cars, and I'm really looking forward to it!
See you there, come one, come all! 😀

Just adding my name to the list. I've booked myself and the family in to the hotel. I'll be there in the cobra - without paint, and hopefully with a hood if I can get to pick it up from Gerry in time.

Not at all, Kevin, it would be great to see the Crendon in current state, and then may next year in ‘completed’ form...or at least, work-in-progress!
