Goodwood Revival

Post by clive »

Three Questions:-

1. Is anyone going?

2. Is it worth a 1,000 mile / 15 hour round trip?

3. How does it compare to Silverstone?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers, Clive.

Hi Clive

I'm going and so is Mr OCD, plus we have 4 French guests coming in the Mustang that won this years historic Monte Carlo Rally. Yes it is worth a 1000 mile round trip, and believe it or not it is MUCH better than Silverstone.
Give me a call for a chat, I'm heading South on Thursday 30th August.

regards

Bill :D

colin,

what can i say, is goodwood worth it - well, if you think silverstone is good, you aint seen nothing boy!!

the thing with goodwood is it take a day to go round the classics in the car park let alone round the track!
you need to dress in perios dress though, or you will look like a chump, everyone dresses for the occasion in period dress!!

worth the 2 or three days, i will be going with my beast!

Yep, I'm going, will be in the pre-66 car park. I'm going friday, then sunday, but need to leave early to go to work.

It is a brilliant event and you must dress up, because if you do not then you will stand out!!!

We also have two further French guests, Jean-Jaques Dieumegard and daughter, staying with us and coming along in the ex David Pilbeam 289. I will be going but sans Cobra - wife will be busy packing it for France the following day.

Goodwood suits the pre '66 cars far better than Silverstone according to the Cobra boys at Silverstone, it is a flowing circuit which is worth watching from corners like Fordwater where a Cobra in a 4 wheel drift is a fearsome sight!!

Also watch out for Peter Hardman in the Aston Martin DB3S and Grant Williams in the 3.8 Jag. watch the former at Fordwater and the latter at Woodcote.

Oh, and apart from the correct dress sense you need to bring a picnic hamper packed with all the best that is available - so civilised.

And for me 40 minutes and 30 miles. No cup for this one either then!!!

Regards

it was FAN...BLOODY...TASTIC!

I cannot find sufficient words to describe this year's event although I'll try when I've caught my breath.
