We soon realised that our new position up on the embankment wasn't that bad after all.
Race viewing immediately nearby, Grandstand, picnic tables, ice cream van, the Goggles and Scarf bar almost next door and even the toilets a short stroll away.
First photo shows those who were up in time on Sunday morning to get into the photo opportunity at the hotel that Gerry and Rhona had located for us.

Many thanks must go to Gerry and Rhona for their choice of hotel, it certainly was a big improvement on The Crossroads. From the overall standard, caring staff and quality of the food it is head and shoulders above previous years.
Cheers, Clive.

Ditto to that Clive and it was good to see you again.
At least the weather allowed a couple of "Taps arf" drives to and from the circuit too!
It'll be tough to top this years experience next time.

It was great to see you guys again. Clive, thought to see you at Silverstone Sunday again! Started home in Northampton at 8:30h to get the train at the tunnel at 12:50h and arrived to late at 12:20h. They did not allow me to get on, too late for booking. In the summer time it would be best to arrive one h before the booked time. Instead I got the train at 16:50h. Was home at 23:30h. 15h was a little to long this time, pooh.
Weather for next time Silverstone please 22°C and cloudy :-)

Hi Migge, great to see you again. Sorry I wasn't there on Sunday, but John Housego and I decided to leave for home early so we could get a clear run up north. We left about 9am and with a clear run and no hold-ups I was home by 4pm with only one fuel stop!
Cheers, Clive.

No problem Clive. Full understandig for that decision. I filled up the tank at the last gas station before the tunnel and got home in one run of 5h driving :-)

Have checked: 520 km. I think the tank is empty now.

Ah, the advantage of a Rover engine!
Cheers, Clive.

Sorry to hear of your ordeal on the way home Migge. Sounds like the computer said NO when there must have been time to get through the formalities and physically get on the train.
I have my petrol tank panel out at the moment trying to find the source of the smell but I do keep looking at how I could make the tank bigger than the 50 litres without obstructing the spare wheel well.
