Re: NEC Happenings
Again a great stand guys, congratulations, would love to be there.
For the yellow 289 from Hawk:
I thought Gerry is an anorak for details and cobras at all, cobra history, CSX # etc. not so this time, that's bad. They should have involved Roger for this car.
I just got this picture from Clive, so I just can see the outside a bit.
The Coventry Motors Cobra as Allen Grant drove it in Santa Barbara 1963 was different in many many details. I guess the Hawk has the right engine in, mine NOT.
Wrong:
- mirrors are placed on the doors. They were on the window escutcheons plates.
- center mirror was not the Raydot type. It was the Healey type.
- Gas cap is more on the right side. It was in the center incl. a big aluminium cover plate around the cap.
- Gas cap has a fuel splash. There was no splash on CSX 2128 as it was yellow.
- Decals on the wrong positions and there were 3 of them, missing Valvoline.
- Wrong type small letters on front wing.
- FIA wheels. It had black Kidney bean wheels with silver around the holes.
- Jacks at the front. NO jacks when it was yellow.
- Missing the snake on the rear fenders.
- Just for the show: black headlight covers.
Cheers Migge, who is a bit irritated by the fact, that his recreation project as a yellow CSX 2128 copy is in the making for 4 years now, still not on the road and that someone showed up with a Coventry Motors styled Cobra. I'm happy that no one was paying attention to the details

Migge is clearly becoming an honorary Brit - I'm prepared to bet that 'a bit irritated' is something of an understatement.Migge wrote:... Good man on the detail - it's stuff like this that makes all the difference. Keep up the good work Migge - look forward to seeing your car sometime.
Cheers, Roger - who wishes all involved huge congratulations, especially Mike - but is also a bit irritated because he didn't think the Club Mag was that bad before, at least not so terrible as to now be the most improved!
Re: NEC Happenings
Thanks Roger,
Will do my best. Of course I have do fight with many compromises: money, time, originality etc. But it will look good from 6 feet away
