Re: Wiper blades
There is a 'striker' on the cog which parks the wipers, if you have swapped the parking side you will have to move the striker 180° too.

Re: Wiper blades
Doh! Sorry, I did see that it was a DR3, but was distracted.
Does the screw move in & out when you turn the knurled nut? Could be stripped thread or the switch mechanism is seized, or both...but it would only give fine adjustment on the park position, and would therefore have to park somewhere for it to have an effect!
If you don`t have the wiper switch with the park terminal, that could explain why it has never parked.
Dad`s Greyhound causes similar hilarity when the reverse park initiates, as sometimes it might do 1, 2 or even 3 strokes before deciding to reverse, half-wipe, then disappear off the screen!

Re: Wiper blades
If you have the correct DR3 (6-wire motor as XK Jag, not 5-wire as Rover) and the correct rotary switch (variant of Lucas PRS7, several screw terminals - 8 or 9, from memory), you should have a swept area on the screen which is symmetrical either side of a vertical line, with the motor running in reverse to park down off the screen. Parking is controlled entirely by the dashboard switch, not a motor-mounted switch as in later Lucas systems. If you need the wiring diagram for the wiper circuit I can send you this - it's pretty complicated!

Yeah Rog, I'd like a copy of the wiring diagram please. Do you still have my email address?
Cheers,
Colin

Re: Wiper blades
It's probably simpler if I just post it here.
This will only work with the correct DR3 motor, must be 6 wires plus earth, not the more common 5 wires plus earth. Also you must have the correct PRS7 switch with 12 (yes, twelve) screw contacts on the back. Anyhow, it's page 50 of the Cobra manual:

Which may be why the wipers won't park.Homewood wrote:I will check but my switch us a prs5 !
