Hi all,

We've had a pretty good uptake on these rear lights and the feedback has been very positive, The discount code will expire soon, so if you're deliberating about whether to get a set or not, have a chat with someone who has and get your order placed sooner rather than later.

Received a pair today.
Much better than expected.
I don't think I'll bother pursuing my own version now.
Will definitely be back for more.

Yes Dave, it's hard to see how Paul's design could be improved upon in all fairness.

A bit of an update.

A customer found a possible reason for the LED sidelights not working properly when the brake lights are connected.

It comes down to the starter interlock for older automatic gearboxes.

Some cars that won't start unless you have your foot on the brake use a relay powered by the brake light circuit to enable the starter.

The relays have a coil that has about 80 Ohms resistance, which is enough to affect the LED lights.

The fix is now implemented in the next batch of lights.

but if anyone has this problem, let me know and I will send out a couple of schottky diodes with wires attached to fit into the brake light connections.
this will fix the problem permanently.

A quick fix would be to disconnect the interlock relay.

Chris (Spiyda Ltd)

ps, apologies to anyone who was pulling their hair out over this :(

Chris,
Thanks for update but I think that you should be pretty safe with us as a club as I don't know anyone who would put an auto box into a Cobra.
Having stated that someone is bound to correct me. Murphy's law.
Just had a rather wet week end in the Burnley area and it was comforting to know that my rear lights are now a lot brighter (and safer) to be visible in all the spray on the crowed M60.

Hi Peter,
All you need is an LED rain light. £13 on eBay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MSA-Approved- ... SwQupXVRj8
