Re: Throttle Accelerator Cable
Alan, that looks very like a Mini cable to me. Have a look at the Minispares website, it should give dimensions and details of the fixings. It's definitely Mini at the pedal end.

Re: Throttle Accelerator Cable
Why not use a bicycle rear brake cable, cut it to length and fit solderless nipples? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ASSORTED-SOLD ... 4196e0a3d4

Re: Throttle Accelerator Cable
My accelerator cable is a Ford one from Real Steel, but was too long so I cut the pedal end and fitted a solderless nipple. I have used these many times over the years and have never had any problems. I do carry spares in the boot just in case.

Re: Throttle Accelerator Cable
Firstly ensure that the cable is not too short and have any tight turns. Lightly lubricate the inner with light oil such as 3in1 and it should be fine. With the cable disconnected from the carb, does the mechanism work smoothly?
I have the mini pedal fitted as I never got round to installing the "correct" AC alloy one, and I noticed a notchy movement when accelerating and eventually traced it to the pad of the pedal catching on the sole of my shoe. The angle of the pedal pad was such that it wasn't lying flat to my shoe so was digging in to the tread of the sole. I now make sure that I wear smooth soled shoes when I drive the car.
