Yes, I'll bet they're MGB, you should be OK.

They are the same. The IVA kit contains MGB Hex-nut spinners, which people replace with AC ones post-test.

Hawk usually have them, probably the other usual suspects.

Re: 3 eared wheel spinner tool

Post by driveav8 »

:) I've been looking for some time for a suitable fitting/removal tool for the 3 eared spinners securing the wire wheels on the splined hubs of my car. Thanks to the posts on this forum, I contacted Lionel Roberts who was most helpful and he offered to make a tool for me. I have sent him one of my spinners to work with, to make a suitable tool that will take the hefty torque needed for this type of fixing. Thanks again to T289R for the info, and look forward to reporting on the tool on receipt.

agnoraan wrote:Well, my "Wheel Widget" arrived the other day and it's a lovely piece of kit. Lionel did a fantastic job and it works really well. He did say that if it didn't fit, for me to send it back to him to modify it to work as it should. As this was the first that he's made one for the Trigo wheels we were expecting some possible teething troubles. The only thing that I did was to mill 4mm from the face that is nearest the whel, so that the tool could engage behind the spinner slightly more. I've spoken to Lionel abou this and he can modify any future ones accordingly. The best bit is the cost, at only £45.00 all in, it's easily worth that than struggling to hammer wheels off. He has said that he'd be more than pleased to make more for 289 Register members :D .

My brother wanted to get me one of these for Christmas, but apparently the Wheelwidget email doesn't work. Anyone got another email address for Lionel?
