LUCAS L542

Post by kaiserbilly1 »

Just wondered if anyone had an "original" Lucas L542 rear light that was for sale?

Thanks Miggie, however I'm looking for a whole unit not just the lens.

Do you specifically need an original item Bill?

You could probably pick up a pair of new copies for less than one original.

In spite of what the ad says, I don't think that's an original Lucas light as there is no evidence of "Lucas" or "L542" on the lens. The American copies that came on my Kirkham didn't have lettering on the lens either.

I have one original unit at the moment and am looking to match it with another.
Currently have two repo L542's fitted that I wish to replace.

Have you seen my thread on the LED rear lights Bill?

What is the difference between the repro's that you have and the original?

The last time I saw original L542s they sold for in excess of £100 each.
Cheers, Clive.
