Re: Passenger Grab Handle
As already stated.
Scallop out the rear mounting faces to match the curve of the scuttle edge. Drill and tap for 2BA, mount handle with screws, sandwiching a suitable pair of tap rubber washers between the jangle and scuttle. If you want to use a little PTFE thread sealant on the screw threads it will stop the screws coming loose.
If you have an aluminium car, you'll probably need nuts on the back of the screws.

Re: Passenger Grab Handle
Hi Stu,
thanks for the feedback. I understood that i have to scallop the handle but not what screw to use. Saw people using screw for wood etc.
So the thread of a normal screw is enough to hold it in the glass fibre body then.
Thanks again,
Ronald

Hi Ronald,
Wood screws are too aggressive, in my view. So yes to the question.

I have used wood screws, of course you have to drill the right diameter hole first. And if you have enough thickness of GRP. Or can use a nut a the end if using M5 bolts.

In Roger's absence, I would have to say that to be truly authentic the machine screws should be 2BA.
Cheers, Clive.

Re: Passenger Grab Handle
The soft top studs are tapped into the fibreglass body, so may work for grab handle?
