Ha. No, I was quite happy with the height of the rear, but an extra 2" at the front would have allowed the wiggle room to get the gearbox out from under.
I had to release the choke cable & remove the fuel line, but other than that, and as the engine was tipping mainly at the rear, nothing else was affected.
Rather than Jack the car the 2" extra I (think I) needed, which would have neccesetated either placing the engine and gearbox back in, or jacking the car simultaneously with the engine to maintain the required angle, I opted to work on it in situ. Apart from that, I was pretty happy with how it went, and any job that ends without the spilling of claret or damage to digits is job well done to me!
