Windscreen stop bumps
Windscreen stop bumps
Anyone know where I can buy the stop bumps screwed to the windscreen frame to steady the top of the perplex? Or is this something else that needs making....

Brasscraft? Gerry?
I was looking at those stops on Mark Morgan's AC289 at the NEC!

Re: Windscreen stop bumps
Roger of course has the correct item so you could perhaps PM him for advice. Personally I made mine with a suitable piece of Ali and used stick on felt to act as the buffer. Yes, get the dimensions right and it stops the side screens flapping at speed and over the crap roads.
Be very careful on where you drill the hole. There is very little spare space and you could easily find the edge of the glass. I felt it when tapping the hole but made sure that the screw depth did not impinge this avoiding stressing the glass.

Thanks peter I decided that these may be very specific to individual side screens so have made a prototype that seem to work fine will refine at a later date need to get it mot'd !

Re: Windscreen stop bumps
Tony, you have clearly got over the main hurdle and tapped the hole. I found I had to adjust the angle of the bracket to ensure it would trap the sidescreen reasonably tight but without jamming.
Looks like you could adjust the rubber thickness if needed.

Ah I used an existing hole in the side frame that was tapped..not the glass surround...fiddly to close one door mine as tolerances are tight but it will do for now
Re: Windscreen stop bumps
Has my fitter put these lift the dots 180 degrees around the wrong way ? Looks wrong to me because of the tension is inside which is the side that lifts ! Hench they pop off easily

Not totally sure what the photo shows. Looks like it’s an outside edge to the bottom and Perspex window to the top?
Then it’s wrong. The lift the dot should be to the outside edge.

Yes I agree its the back window and as you say the print should be towards the back, stupid fitter....
